Here is a post about Friendship Circle in German with a another diagram.
Wouldn't it be nice to have these sort of visual people organizer for e-mail clients and other tools?
BTW, I really get a kick out of seeing references to my post in foreign languages.

you inspired me ... well actually it is very much your idea. Mine just differs in taste and language. Language being was the main reason to redo it and not just linking yours.
But I differ in conclusion. Of Course I sort my friendship and order them in some kind of vage sceme within your visual organizer. But under no circumstances, would I want to communicate this.
We all function by rules. Saying hello while entering a room and good bye when leaving. Apart from some old relicts as your highness I do not differentiate how I great unless I deliberately want to insult or flatter someone and sometime it is mere mimickri for fun.
Most times I communicate degrees of familiarity and intimacy in a very subtle fashion and it is like a dance for- and backwards.
Any message of you're a 5 of 10 would end up in a catastrophy.
